This is a strategic partnership that focuses on prejudice and its negative effects in education. The project will deal with the topic in term of its cause and effects, execute research into school environment, include students (male-female) teachers, parents, social environment, media and will produce an output book with challenges and solutions to prevent prejudice.
The idea arose from the fact that societies are strongly prejudiced and that the education systems, which is a subsystem of the societies they serve, reproduce the values and culture of those societies without challenging their possible limitations on the life opportunities and experiences of their pupils. Prejudice places unhealthy demands on individuals which inhibit their natural talents and interests from developing, and consequently limit economic progress and prevent social cohesion.
Prejudice carries a strong influence in society, schools and the daily life in classrooms. Yet inequities because of prejudice issues are often rendered invisible to students and teachers by their very pervasiveness in classrooms.
We will deal with this common issue into our school environment trying to diminish the negative effects of prejudice.
OBJECTIVES
-to increase the awareness and remove the barriers of the images/prejudices
-to develop their critical thinking, basic life-skills and key competences,
-to know other people
The aim of the project is international so results will be achieved if it is run trans-nationally.
